画館仙北学園に通う渋江央（しぶえあきら）は、所属する水泳部と陸上部の夏期合同合宿に参加する。 水泳部部長にして生徒会長の蘆名累（あしなるい）と、 陸上部に所属する幼なじみの清原梨里（きよはらりり）、 須田たち部活友達や合宿に参加した仲間たちと、厳しくも楽しく過ごす央。 憧れの人への想い、幼なじみと親友の恋に揺れる心、友人と語る将来への漠とした不安と夢。 夏の日に流れる、ありふれた青春のひととき。 それは強く鮮やかに、しかし穏やかに流れ、忘れえぬ思い出として残るはずだった。 一方―― 人知れず繁殖し蔓延した、すべてを犯す狂気の悪疫。 徐々に理性を奪われ、凶暴化する感染者たち。 終末を呼ぶ災厄の影が群れを成し、彼らを取り囲み、蹂躙しようと迫っていた。
